Internship Opportunities in the CMS Aquatic Species Team in 2025

Bonn, 28 January 2025 - Are you a university student or a recent graduate?  Are you interested in aquatic migratory species?  Are you interested in the work of a multilateral environmental agreement of the United Nations?  If your answer is yes, consider applying for an internship in our Aquatic Species Team! (ASCOBANS, CMS, Sharks MOU, IOSEA Marine Turtle MOU)

Check out the details in the Job Opening on the UN Careers page.

We are seeking multiple interns, to start at a mutually agreed date anytime in 2025.  Deadline for applications (via the above link) is 10 February 2025.

The Secretariat is not able to consider applications sent via email.  Due to a high volume of applications, only successful candidates will be contacted.

Tips for applicants:

  • Read the Job Opening thoroughly.  Check that you are eligible to apply.
  • In the cover letter, list your top three areas of interest (e.g. research, social media, bycatch mitigation, awareness-raising, species biology, meetings, policy, communications), and a notion as to which aquatic unit you would be interested to do your internship in (if you have a preference).
  • Include also an explanation about your interest in an internship at the UN, and please state your preferred start date, number of months you are available for, and whether you can do the internship in-person or remotely.
  • Reserve ample time to complete your profile in Inspira (which you can find via 'Apply Now' in the Job Opening, or at https://inspira.un.org/).

We look forward to receiving your applications!
